Who is responsible?

CV builder and local files

The builder processes information you enter, imported PDF, DOCX, PPTX and TXT documents, JSON backups and optional photos on your device. PDF and backup exports are generated in your browser. Loading the website and fonts still makes normal requests to our hosting infrastructure.

Choose “Enable autosave” to keep a draft and document title in this browser between visits. Choose “Session only” to work without saving that draft. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to access a saved draft.

ATS checker, job finder and translator

The ATS checker extracts your CV text in the browser. When you analyze a public job link, that link is sent to our server so the page can be read for comparison. If you use Find a Job, the extracted CV profile or written summary, role keywords and selected location are sent to our server to retrieve and rank current vacancies from an external job source. The CV text is not displayed on the results page.

If you translate a CV, your browser sends the extracted text and selected language directly to MyMemory (Translated). The provider also receives your IP address as part of that connection. The translated text is returned to your browser, where the downloadable PDF is created. Do not use these tools for information you do not want processed for the requested feature. These requests are made to provide the function you choose under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Optional storage and your choice

We ask before saving new drafts automatically. Optional device storage is based on your consent under § 25(1) TDDDG; where personal data processing is involved, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR applies. A minimal preference records your choice under § 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

You can change your choice through “Privacy settings” in the footer. “Clear my data” removes the saved draft, title, old checkpoint and theme and turns autosave off. Local drafts remain until removed by you or your browser. Downloads are separate files that you control.

Hosting and technical access data

Requests can contain your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, timestamps and error details. These technical records support delivery, security and troubleshooting under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website. Hosting providers may also process data for their own purposes under their policies.

Provider processing may take place outside the European Economic Area. We do not claim that all hosting data remains in Germany. Hosting log retention is controlled by the hosting platform; the application does not set a separate log-retention period.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for service enquiries or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence. We keep correspondence only while needed to handle the enquiry and applicable legal retention obligations.

Your rights

Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data we hold. You may withdraw consent at any time for future processing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Local drafts can be removed directly through the tool.

You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. We do not use CV content for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Future services

AdSense, analytics, paid reviews, payment processing and public CV links are not enabled in this version. This policy and the relevant consent choices will be updated before any of those features process personal data. See cookies and storage for the current device-storage inventory.
